Creative Director

admin@nomadicus.com

I DIVE DEEP into the worlds of visionary clients who find me when they have big dreams and complex puzzles to solve.

I enjoy the process of figuring out the challenge, finding the elements that will captivate audiences, crafting stories that resonate, and mapping out creative and technical strategies for even the trickiest of projects. Regardless the medium, this often means building a unique creative team for each project, and this close collaboration with a diversity of specialized and skilled individuals is one of the great pleasures of my work.

Whether it’s weaving together multi-platform wonders, bringing live experiences to life, or capturing compelling filmed content – I’m all about embracing the adventure and exploring uncharted territories. And though I love playing in all kinds of creative sandboxes, a parallel career in film gives me a soft spot for the magic of the moving image.

Despite being born blind, Cameron Black's dream is to become a sports broadcaster. As a kid, Cameron wasn’t particularly interested in sports - it all seemed very out of reach for him. Later, on moving to Kansas City - the home of the Chiefs NFL team - his father taught him that with an understanding of the rules of football, and by listening to radio sportscasters, it was possible for Cameron to gain an understanding of what was happening during a game. Soon, Cameron was hooked.

Ever since then, Cameron has continued to develop his interest in sports. He has found that his passion opens many doors for him, leveling the playing field when it comes to social interactions and giving him something to chat about with strangers, friends and colleagues. Sports the unifier.

His love of sports has grown over time. He now writes a blog and has an emerging career in sports journalism.

Michelob Ulta chose Cameron for this ambitious experiment where they wanted to help expand accessibility, and help Cameron understand what was happening during a live NBA Basketball game - so much so that he could commentate a game live.

We made that dream a reality by developing proprietary technology using realtime and human assisted-Al. We brought together the team, developed the tech with Nepyru, and designed and built an experiential studio for Cameron in Brooklyn, from where he live-commentated a Knicks v’s Cavs playoff game happening simultaneously in Madison Square Garden.

This project was multi-faceted and complex in just about every way imaginable. It involved managing and directing multiple crews simultaneously - to design and build Cameron’s immersive experience, run the technology team, and film everything at the same time. We succeeded in the end, in large part thanks to Cameron’s inspiring determination and story.

This project was a big step for one man, but a giant leap for the potential of technology to make the world of sports and beyond far more accessible, for many.

I’m very proud of our multi-team’s work on this project, and I continue to work with Nepyru to explore how we can continue developing this technology for the greater good.
